I loved art from a very young age. I remember a time when I was a small child just "scribbling" with crayons because it felt good. When I was a preteen I took small painting classes at the Long Beach Island Art Foundation in New Jersey. In high school I developed a love for photography (film). I went on to study Studio Art at the University of Colorado. I then moved back to New Jersey. I became interested in teaching so I decided to become a substitute teacher and do the alternate route to teaching art. After five years of a great subbing experience, but no luck finding a full time career as an art teacher I decided to shift my gears to write and illustrate children's books.
I still want to teach children, so I figure I will teach them through books that I write and illustrate. I want my books to be about something that I am interested in and will come from the heart. I consider myself a pretty healthy person. I enjoy running, surfing, snowboarding, you name it I probably do it. Also, I enjoy eating a plant based diet. Since a healthy lifestyle is a passion of mine I will focus my books healthy eating and exercise. My first book is called ABC Healthy and I will be creating many more healthy books for kids. I hope you enjoy my journey as a healthy children's book writer and illustrator.
